Hypnotist to perform at fund-raising event for Brandon playground
The Brandon Area Community Club (BACC) will be hosting Hypnotist William Mitchell on Saturday, February 21st, at the Brandon Area Community Center, and the public is invited to attend! William Mitchell is a practicing clinical hypnotist and a certified hypnosis instructor, who has been performing comedy stage hypnosis shows for over 12 years.

Vinton event to offer Cow calf producers info on genetic selection and genomics
There has been a lot of progress in beef cattle genetics and genetic tools in the last few years. Cow calf producers have an opportunity to learn how they can make genetic improvements in their herd at meetings scheduled for March 3, 5:30 pm, Pizza Ranch, 219 W. 4th St, Vinton, with dinner sponsored by US Bank, and March 4, 10-2:30, Bear Creek Lodge, 1206 German Street, Maquoketa, with lunch sponsored by Maquoketa Feed.

Hay producers invited to March 19 conference
Area hay and forage producers are invited to attend the 32ndt Annual Eastern Iowa Hay Producers Association (EIHPA) Annual Meeting and Conference on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Buzzy’s in Welton. Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the program scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
This year’s conference will focus on forage rotation and cover crops.

Adult Pickleball league sign up begins
Adult Pickleball League is a new program offered through the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department that is set to begin later this month. Adults and those students at V/S high school are now eligible to put their two-person teams together (can be mixed gender) and get registered. Pickleball League will take place at the Vinton Skate & Activity Center on the Wednesday evenings of February 18,25 as well as March 4 and 11.
